Lisa Qualls over at One Thankful Mom has been writing this week on the power and effect of shame in our lives. At this point there are three posts in the series and I think each one is worth considering in isolation as well as together.
Reflecting on her posts I see shame and denial as two of the most destructive forces at work against our theraputic homes. Regularly I watch strong families being torn apart not by the overwhelming realities that they face (though they are hard) - but by the powerful forces of shame and guilt about the realities which team up to keep them isolated, alone and hopeless.
It's not good.
It isn't necessary.
And it isn't helpful to let shame or denial dictate our lives and our definition of who we are and what we are doing.
Amen Lisa....I'm waiting to read what God has for you to share with us next.
